Our Achievements So Far

An Interest Group was set up in March 2016 to garner support for a state of the art Meat Processing Facility to be located in Guyra and powered by a solar farm located on the same site. When all of the talking was done we had five members of the community prepared to finance the first stages. We established a Company and four of the original five were happy to be Directors with one remaining a happy investor.

  • May 2016. New England Innovation & Development Pty Ltd registered.
  • October 2017. An Option to Purchase the land in Guyra was signed and we gained a fifth Director.
  • December 2018. Traffic Engineering Study completed.
  • March 2019 A Pre-Feasibility Study was completed followed by a Full Feasibility Study.
  • April 2019. Stage 1 Preliminary Site Investigation was completed.
  • April 2019. Work began on the Biodiversity Report.
  • May 2019. An Aboriginal and Non Indigenous Cultural Heritage Assessment was completed.
  • August 2019. A Development Servicing Strategy was completed by the Consulting Engineers.

Industrial Park, Meat Processing Facility & Solar Farm

From Day 1 of this project we engaged and have been advised by Michael Croft, Surveying & Mapping.
We also engaged a firm of Consultants from Brisbane to assist us with this project.

The founding shareholders have provided initial capital to set up the company, identify suitable land and secure land options, fund a Feasibility Study  and all other reports, to commence development applications to subdivide the land, to create a 30 plus lot Industrial Park together with a meat processing facility and solar farm.  Local and State development approvals are currently being sought.

Project feasibility outcomes are very positive, with further investigation underway relating to livestock supply and water use and availability. This supports the choice of the site for the development in Guyra, NSW.

The sole aim behind this project has been to create jobs and opportunities within our region of Northern New South Wales. The meat processing facility will create approximately 600 jobs and the Industrial Park will give the opportunity to potentially 30 plus new business’s to establish and prosper.

If you wish to discuss in greater detail any of the plans NEID has to promote prosperity and expansion within our region we are happy to talk with you, just call or email and we will arrange to meet.
